Texture Help: What resolution are the textures?

Product categoriesUpdated November 1, 2026

Resolution varies by product — check the product page for the exact specs on any individual texture.

General guidelines

Most Studio 2am textures are supplied as high-resolution files suitable for both print and digital use. As a general guide:

  • Print use: You'll want at least 300 DPI at your intended output size. Most of our textures are supplied large enough to cover standard print formats at full quality.
  • Digital/screen use: Resolution is rarely a limiting factor for screen work. Even textures supplied at 72–150 DPI will look sharp on screen.
  • 3D and video: Check the pixel dimensions rather than DPI — for most 3D texture mapping or video overlays, a 4000px or larger image gives you plenty of flexibility.

What if the texture isn't big enough for my use?

If you need to scale a texture up significantly, do it in Photoshop using Image > Image Size with Preserve Details 2.0 (or Bicubic Smoother for older versions) selected. This gives better results than a straight scale. For print work, always test at 100% zoom to check for quality before going to press.

If you have a specific resolution requirement and aren't sure a product meets it, check the product description or contact us before purchasing.
