How to use Studio 2am fonts in Canva
Studio 2am fonts work in Canva, but you need a Canva Pro subscription to upload custom fonts. The free version of Canva does not support custom font uploads.
What you need
- A Canva Pro (or Canva for Teams) subscription
- Your downloaded font file in
.otfor.ttfformat (both work — if your download includes both, either is fine)
How to upload a font in Canva (desktop)
- Log in to Canva and go to Brand Hub (in the left sidebar).
- Select the Brand Kit you want to add the font to, or create a new one.
- Scroll to the Fonts section and click Upload a font.
- Select your
.otfor.ttffile and upload it. - Once uploaded, the font will appear in your Brand Kit and be available to use in any design linked to that kit.
To use it in a design, open a text element, click the font name at the top, and find your uploaded font under Brand fonts.
How to upload a font in Canva (mobile)
- Open the Canva app and tap your profile icon.
- Go to Brand Hub, then select your Brand Kit.
- Tap Upload a font in the Fonts section and choose your font file.
Note: Mobile font upload works on iPhone and iPad. The font must already be saved to your device.
Which file format to use
Most Studio 2am fonts include both .otf and .ttf files. Both work in Canva — either format is fine to upload. If you only received one format, use that.
Licensing note
Uploading a font to Canva is considered desktop use. A Desktop license covers this. You do not need a Webfont license to upload a font to your Canva Brand Kit.
Troubleshooting
The font uploaded but looks wrong or has missing characters.
Try uploading the .ttf version if you used .otf, or vice versa. Some variable or OpenType features may not be supported in Canva.
I can't find the font in my design. Make sure your design is linked to the Brand Kit you uploaded to. Open Brand Kit within the design and check it's selected.
I don't have Canva Pro. Custom font uploads require a paid Canva plan. Free Canva users can still use fonts as images — export your text as a PNG in another tool and import that into Canva.
