Font Help: Can I use a downloaded font on more than one device/ computer?

Updated September 17, 202630 views

Yes, a Desktop font license covers multiple devices, as long as they're all used by the people the license covers.

Who the license covers

The Desktop license is licensed to the individual or company declared at checkout: Just me (one person), Small team (2-5 people), or Company or agency (6+ people, priced on headcount at help.studio2am.co/enterprise).

One person covers all the devices they use. If you work across a desktop and a laptop, you're still covered, it's the same person using the font. If your studio has 2-5 people, choose the Small team declaration and everyone there is covered.

Sharing files with a client or printer

You don't need a bigger license just to deliver final files. If you're handing off outlined vectors, exported PDFs, or flattened images, formats where the font can't be extracted or installed, your existing license covers that. The recipient doesn't need their own license unless they want to install and actively use the font files themselves.

Contractors or freelancers working on the same project

An ongoing contractor working under your direction counts toward your headcount. A freelancer brought in for a single, bounded job doesn't, and they can use the font files as your contractor for that job, as long as they delete their copy once it's done.
